Catherine DN Therapy

Hello! My name is Catherine (she/her/elle), and I’m very happy to welcome you here! I am a part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, and I speak French fluently. I recognize my privilege to live on Treaty 1 Territory.

I have a Master of Education degree in Counselling Psychology, and I am also a member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC).

Here’s more about me:

I provide individual therapy to teens and adults of all ages, as well as couples therapy and family therapy. I work from a collaborative, person-centered approach, with a focus on goal setting and growth. Authenticity matters a lot to me, whether this comes from me or from the person sitting in front of me. This means that I do what I can to create an environment that is conducive of that and facilitates showing up for exactly who you are without judgment. I treat the individuals that I see as an equal, and value building a connection with them. Humour and laughter are always welcome in my sessions.

As an eclectic therapist, I offer an individually-curated therapeutic approach to ensure that I am able to work with each person to understand what they need. Some of the therapeutic approaches that I use in my work include solution-focused brief therapy, CBT, feminist theory, humanistic therapy, relational therapy, as well as some DBT, ACT and strength-based aspects. I support individuals living with many different experiences, including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, neurodivergence, BPD, domestic violence situations, trauma, difficulties with emotional regulation, relationships concerns, coping strategies, attachment styles, interpersonal communication challenges, and more. I enjoy working with individuals in the exploration of their identities and helping them find their self-acceptance and worth. My lived experience informs the work that I do with my clients, and in my personal life, I also have experience living with neurodivergence and chronic pain. It is important for my clients to feel safe, accepted, welcome, and understood. I am eager to help my clients process what they are bringing to the therapy room.

'’A space to rise, open and grow, where your healing becomes your bloom.’’

En français:

Salut! En plus des services déjà mentionnés, je peux aussi vous offrir un service en français! Le français est ma langue maternelle, donc je serais heureuse de communiquer avec vous en français si cela est plus convenable pour vous.

A bit extra:

In my spare time, I enjoy playing several musical instruments and singing, playing video games, and spending time with my cats, partner, and friends. My favourite TV show is Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
